The Federal Bar Association (FBA) will host its fashion law conference in Paris on Friday, September 29—with a focus on fashion tech and startups. The first panel will highlight legal issues arising from fashion tech products and services with attorney Olivera Medenica and a representative from Cypheme—2017 LVMH Innovation Award finalist. The second panel will discuss product launch for startups and established brands, and will include Maria Vathis, Of Counsel at Bryan Cave and Sophia Bernardin, co-founder of Resee, a shopping site curating luxury vintage fashion.

The panel topics are very timely and relevant given the increased focus on fashion tech and startups in Paris. LVMH hosted its inaugural Innovation Award at the 2017 Viva Technology conference. Also, both French President Emmanuel Macron and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo have been very supportive of helping emerging entrepreneurs. French President Macron has pledged to work with and for startups and to make France a “startup nation.” During the Viva Technology kickoff reception in June, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also emphasized the importance of innovation and startups in Paris.

Conference sponsors for FBA’s upcoming Paris Fashion Law Conference include Medenica Law PLLC and Lafayette Plug and Play. For additional information and to register, please visit fedbar.org.
